For podcast hosts & producers

I still run the stores I talk about.

I run three Australian ecommerce stores. My COO and managers run them day to day, and the AI agents I built handle the menial work. These days I spend most of my time teaching other operators how to do the same.

What I can talk about

Three topic suggestions

1

How AI took over the menial work

The daily numbers, freight checks, refund triage and payment matching run on agents I built. My COO and managers do the judgment work. What I automated, what I left to people, and what it actually cost.

2

I built a business I can run from anywhere

Before the agents I ran it from the road: two years around Australia in a caravan, with the stores still shipping. How you build a business that doesn’t need you in one place. This is the actual Escape Velocity story.

The six numbers I run all three stores on

True net profit and net margin for the day, then the three cost ratios, product, marketing and operating, that tell you which constraint to push. I read them every morning before anything else. There’s a free version in my Tools.

Short bio · 1 line

Matthew Scott is an Australian ecommerce operator and teacher. He now spends most of his time teaching other operators through Escape Velocity.

Long bio · intro read

Matthew Scott has spent more than a decade in Australian ecommerce. He runs three stores, Ramp Champ, Kids Car Sales and Eco Off Grid, which have together done over $38 million in sales. He started in high-ticket dropshipping, learned the hard way how thin those margins really are, and rebuilt the business around branded product he owns and manufactures. A COO and a team of managers run the stores day to day, while the AI agents he built handle the menial, repetitive work like daily reporting, freight checks, refund triage and payment matching. His main focus now is Escape Velocity, where he teaches ecommerce operators how to find their real margin, build a brand they own, and step back from the day to day the way he has.
